Who we are

Yellow Minds is a nonprofit organization supporting neurodivergent adults, adults with developmental disabilities, and the families who walk alongside them.

Support

Born from lived experience, we provide structured programs, compassionate guidance, and real-world tools that help adults grow in independence, confidence, and connection.
You are not alone, and you don’t have to navigate this journey without support.

Who Yellow Minds Is For

Happy Beach Trip

We support:

  • Adults with developmental disabilities and neurodivergent adults

  • Families and caregivers seeking guidance, structure, and clarity

  • Individuals preparing for greater independence, community involvement, and employment

Whether you’re just beginning to ask questions or looking for the next step forward, Yellow Minds meets you where you are.

Built From Lived Experience

What began as an effort to support a beloved brother with developmental disabilities grew into a thoughtfully designed, scalable program — built to address the real gaps families face: fragmented services, unclear systems, and the emotional weight of planning for the future.

Because we’ve lived it, we understand:

  • The emotional challenges families carry

  • The importance of informed decision-making

  • How complex funding, eligibility, and provincial supports can be

Supporting Growth, Independence, and Belonging

Yellow Minds provides structured, goal-oriented programs that help participants:

  • Build practical life skills

  • Strengthen social confidence

  • Explore creativity and personal interests

  • Take meaningful steps toward independent, fulfilling lives

Each participant is supported by a dedicated Life Guide (Developmental Support Worker) with a 1:3 ratio, ensuring individualized attention, trust, and measurable progress.

Families remain active partners throughout the journey, receiving updates, guidance, and tools to support growth at home.
